BOSTON, June 28 (Nationwide Times) — A duck boat overturned Saturday near the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts, injuring multiple passengers aboard the sightseeing vehicle, according to Cambridge police and Massachusetts State Police.

Cambridge police spokesman Bob Reardon said the tour boat had 32 people aboard when it turned on its side. Reardon said Cambridge Fire reported that everyone aboard was accounted for.

Authorities gave differing counts of how many people were hurt. Cambridge police said some injuries were minor and two were more serious, while Boston EMS said 11 people were injured and one had serious injuries.

The boat overturned shortly after 3 p.m. near a ramp on Museum Way close to Education Street, according to police and state police. One account said the boat was being towed when a tow rope broke; another said a mechanical issue was involved. Authorities said Massachusetts State Police would lead the investigation.

Officials did not identify the injured passengers or say whether any citations or formal findings had been issued.
