SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 27 (San Francisco News Online) — NVIDIA on June 22 introduced NVIDIA Halos for Robotics, a standardized safety architecture the company says is designed to connect AI compute, software, sensor data, safety applications and inspection for robots and other physical AI systems.

The company said the system brings together NVIDIA IGX Thor and Holoscan Sensor Bridge for compute and sensor connectivity, NVIDIA Halos OS for software safety functions, and the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab for inspection and certification prep.

NVIDIA said Halos for Robotics draws on more than 18,600 engineering years of autonomous vehicle safety work. The company also said the inspection lab is the world’s first ANAB-accredited program for functional and AI safety for physical AI.

According to NVIDIA, the lab is meant to help partners prepare for third-party certification from TÜV Rheinland, UL Solutions, TÜV SÜD, exida, SGS and CertX. The company did not list pricing or a broader availability date in the release.
