UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — Three Wendy’s employees in Union, South Carolina, have been charged after police said they tampered with a customer’s food, taking it from the trash and spitting on it before serving it again.

Reports citing the Union Police Department said the incident happened at the Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass after a customer complained about her drive-thru order and asked for it to be remade. Police said the food was handled again before it was given back to the customer.

Authorities identified the charged employees as Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley. All three were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item, according to the reports.

Fox News reported that the three were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22. The manager told reporters that the employees involved were written up, and Audacy reported that a third employee was disciplined by the restaurant.

The available reporting did not identify the Wendy’s owner or franchise operator, and it did not say how the criminal cases were resolved.
